The Vultures

March, 2025

Joshua Tree National Park is often seen as a place full of life, but what stayed with me the most were the dead trees. They stand in the desert as if they have reached the end of their lives, yet they are also part of a cycle that allows new life to grow. I wanted to use this series to think about death not as an ending, but as something that quietly exists within nature. The vultures, the trees, and the sky all become part of the same landscape, where decay and renewal are never separate from each other.
